About
Who publishes this
The Snug Report is published by the team behind Coy, a New Zealand retailer that stocks many of the products reviewed here. We say so on every page. Our scores come from aggregated public reviews, not from us — the method is on the methodology page and the evidence count is on every review.
The obvious conflict, stated first
A retailer publishing reviews of the products it sells has an obvious conflict of interest. We are not going to argue you out of that. What we can do is make it checkable.
The scores are not ours. They aggregate reviews other people wrote on other retailers' websites, and the count behind every one of them is printed on the page. If we were marking our own homework you would expect the products we stock to score uniformly well. They do not: of 110 products, plenty score badly and stay published.
What we actually know
- We stock and ship these products in New Zealand, so we see what comes back and why.
- Every score aggregates public reviews across multiple retailers — 110 products in this category, 94 of them backed by 50 or more reviews.
- We publish the evidence count on every review: how many reviews, across how many retailers, and the aggregate star rating.
- We record material and porosity for every product, and we say plainly when a material cannot be sterilised.
- Scores are never sold, and a product we cannot find real evidence for is marked 'Gathering reviews' rather than guessed at.
What we are not
The Snug Report is written and maintained by the team behind Coy, a New Zealand retailer. We spend our days handling this stock, processing the returns and reading what buyers actually say about it. We are not doctors, nurses or sexual-health clinicians, and nothing here is medical advice.
Where a page touches health rather than products, it says so at the top and points you at people who are qualified. For symptoms, pain or bleeding, see a doctor or a sexual-health clinic — not a website that sells butt plugs.

We do not carry advertising and we do not accept payment to review or to score a product. What we do and do not do.
